Hope and her uncle are on their way home after robbing two women on the street. Suddenly, a man falls from the sky, landing in front of them on the ground. Recognizing the red mask he’s wearing from rumors of the ‘Boogey-man’, Hope’s uncle and his partner open fire on the stranger. Attacking him proves pointless as he seems to possess super-human abilities. Hope’s father, Isaac, finds out about the ambush and is certain that the ‘Boogey-man’ is a member of the Klips, a rival gang in town. 

The Thousand Boys gang are in the process of burning the local convenience store to mark their territory when the man in the red mask appears again. He single-handedly takes out every man in the building, then points his gun at the last person standing, Hope.
